We had a cosy evening singing for the St Nicks' winter fundraiser. A relaxing evening of food, song and poetry was the perfect andedote to pre-Christmas business.
We sang a set of Christmassy songs (who can have too much of the Coventry Carol) and old favourites (I can't remember what we sang) while people were arriving, and despite being one Barbarella short had a great time.
After a delicious plant-based feast cooked up by chef Joe Fennerty of the Food Circle, and rhythm and rhyme from York Culture Award winner, Anneliese Emmans Dean of the Big Buzz, we performed some our favourites numbers including The Bishnoi Song, a horah-inspired caper through the story of the original tree-huggers - the Bishnoi women who saved their sacred grove from developers.
A wonderful (and tasty evening), and St Nicks raising an amazing amount of money (fundmatched by the Garfield Weston Foundation) which will all go towards keeping the green heart of York up and running.
